We saw a ton of shooting stars and I have never seen so many glowing balls of fire. It was beautiful. I tried to capture the meteors in a photograph but was unsuccessful. The closest thing in my frame to a shooting star was when an airplane flew through.

A car drove by and lit up the side of a hill we were near. I think it’s kind of Mars-esque.

If anything came from the night, I got a ton of wishes in.

Hi all! I know it’s been a while since last posting and many things have changed during that time. My internship in Grand Rapids, Mich., ended and I’m now back home in Seattle, Wash. My last internship couldn’t have been better for me. I learned so much and grew into the photographer I want to be. So many people made huge impacts in my life—from my coworkers to those I got to meet, photograph and talk with on my daily assignments. I’m a much stronger person than when I left for the ‘Mitten State’ and the time there will always have a place in my heart. Now, I am working at The Seattle Times where I’m a photo/multimedia specialist. I’m producing content for the paper in a much different way and in doing so it is making me grow in a different way than shooting did. It’s the start of something new. I will never stop shooting and this will only benefit me. Thank you everyone for all your support!

The way people move with such grace and strength at the same time is amazing. I was able to photograph the dress rehearsal for The Grand Rapids Ballet’s “Movemedia 2″, which consisted of three different pieces, with one of those pieces incorporating three individual dances. I came out with some images that I really enjoyed.

It’s definitely in my top three sports to photograph. I am one of a few photographers who I’ve heard that enjoys it, which is interesting. I’m not quite sure why other photographers don’t enjoy it but I think it’s fun to wait for that moment when limbs intertwine into something visually interesting. It’s like shooting abstract art in sports. There have only been a couple matches that I’ve photographed this season, but here are some images I enjoyed.
